360-degree panorama of Pécs from the 17-story building

This was another complicated task that many said couldn’t be done, or at least was very difficult, so I thought I’d do it just for that reason 🙂

Typically, we create panoramas by placing the camera on a tripod, rotating it with the tripod head, and taking photos with at least 30% overlap to ensure smooth stitching later. Another method is to move parallel to the subject while taking the photos, though I haven’t seen many examples of this approach.

In this case, neither method was possible, because there is no high point on the top of the building from which this could be done. So, out of necessity, I took the pictures from the four corners of the roof and from two additional points between the corners. This made it difficult to stitch. I tried to work with as much overlap as possible, but since the photos were taken from so many points, it was still a struggle. It didn’t turn out perfect, but it just about fits into the “good enough” category.
