David Gilmour Concert in Croatia

In 2015, it turned out that I got to attend David Gilmour’s concert in Pula.

We went with Pityu leading the way. The GPS almost tricked us at the end, but the hotel staff where we had booked our stay knew something. While we were wandering around Pula, one of the staff members appeared on a motorbike and guided us to the hotel. During the off-season, we managed to keep the whole trip quite affordable. We went the day before the concert. On the day we arrived, we settled into our accommodation at the Horizont Resort. After that, we checked out the seaside at sunset and scouted the area a bit.

Later that evening, I went out to take some night photos. The others were already tired, so they chose beer over walking around.

The next morning, Sigma did some filming, and afterward, we went into the city to look around. Later, we whipped up a low-budget, low-quality lunch with some onions, sausages, cheese, and ketchup. It was edible 😀

We headed to the concert at the amphitheater. After getting in and finding our seats, we were just waiting for the magic to happen and it did! It was the best concert of my life! The master played a few new songs from his then-recently released album, along with tracks from his earlier solo albums and, of course, some classic Pink Floyd hits. The highlight for me was “Sorrow.” It played with such clarity and raw power that it felt like it could blow your mind while sending chills down your spine. Words can’t describe the experience.

After the concert, we managed to get out and return to our accommodation relatively easily. I went out to take more photos and process everything I had heard.

The next morning, we packed up, took one last walk along the shore, and headed home with an unforgettable memory.

On the way we stopped at a few more places to rest and do a bit of sightseeing.

It was a great trip, and I hadn’t laughed that much in a long time. Thanks, guys!
