Óbánya téli köntösben
After playing Carcassonne until 6 AM, I managed to get up around 11 and motivate myself to head to Óbánya for some photography. I thought the freezing weather would surely create some icicles, which would enhance the already picturesque stream area. And I was right. For a while, I had been considering the idea of getting into the water at one of the waterfalls to take photos from there. During the filming of “Of Wood and Water,” Peti mentioned that waders would help with this, so I bought one and finally tried them out today. I wasn’t sure how cold it would be, so I wore two thick winter hiking socks, thermal leggings, and jeans. This was just enough to keep me warm in waist-deep water for the 20-25 minutes I was photographing. It was an interesting experience, and I managed to achieve what I wanted. Besides being able to wade into the water up to my waist at the chosen spot, it was also a great relief not to have to be so careful moving from one place to another. In boots, even ankle-deep water requires caution. It was worth spending my rest day in nature today, even though I was tired. And now, the pictures:
