When I finished on the south shore, I still had some time before dark, so I decided to visit the north shore. I started at Balatongyörök.
A little further on, at the foot of Badacsony, I also checked out the scene. The first photo shows the Szigliget Castle, and the second features Badacsony itself.
Near the shore, there was a small area where the water hadn’t frozen over. I found a flock of birds there. I took a few photos of them and the location, as well as a 360-degree panorama.
While mapping out the ice ridge, I managed to capture a bird flying right above it.
Not far from Badacsony, in the light of the approaching sunset, I took another full-circle panorama above the ice formation.
Here’s another selection of abstract ice patterns.
