We’d agreed that Bélatelep near Fonyód was a must-visit spot, because we’d seen photos online from there showing the water frozen into interesting berry-like formations. On our way to Fonyód, we stopped at Balatonszárszó and Balatonszemes, but the conditions weren’t promising at either location. And so, the long-awaited discovery of the ice at Bélatelep followed. We found the “berries”, though there was a minor flaw. It had freezing rained sleet beforehand, leaving visible marks on the ice. No matter, we still found some exotic shapes. We spent a little more time here.
