I read that Lake Balaton’s water level was very low, so I decided to go see it with my own eyes and with the drone. Near Balatonszemes, I started with a 360° panorama. The unusual phenomenon was clearly visible by the marina.
I took some more photos in the area.
At Balatonboglár, it was also noticeable, the patterns of the lake bed stood out clearly.
My next stop was at Balatonyfenyves.
Around the marina there, I captured some more 360° panorama.
I was finished on the southern side. After a bit of thought and a little tired, I headed up to the northern shore hoping for a spectacular sunset.
I also explored the area around the boat dock. In the distance, Szigliget Castle was illuminated by the sun.
My final stop was Badacsony. Thanks to the relatively clear atmosphere, the Tihany Peninsula and its surroundings were well visible with a telephoto lens.
The highlight of the tour was indeed the sunset. I recorded two versions of the full panoramic view, one showing the lake largely intact and one that framed the witness hills with the lake split by the composition. I also took a closer shot of the sunset.
And finally, here is the panoramic view in a rotatable format.
Overall I was satisfied. The unusually low water level offered a less familiar view to capture, and the sunset was beautiful.
